Our mission is to support volunteers working in the community who choose to work of their own free will, unpaid and for the benefit of the community. We at Volunteer Whanganui have a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi (The Treaty of Waitangi).

We offer an information and consultancy service to help agencies to support volunteers and are establishing a library of  resources on volunteering. We have a professional development, training programme for volunteer co-ordinators and managers. We can assist agencies to find volunteers by referring volunteers to them and we aim to put suitable volunteers in touch with the agency.
